i want to walk on the moon...

Not much to say today. I am going to go see James Murphy and Juan Maclean DJ tonight at the Mezzanine in San Francisco. Should be good. But in the meantime, I've been listening to Arthur Russell way way way too much. Never enough though. I love "This is How We Walk on The Moon" and because I love tigers, "My Tiger, My Timing" is provided for you.

my desktop folder samples

My ipod broke. Such a damn disappointment. Because of this I have become a pack rat and saved all my downloaded songs on my computer. At this point the folders for the rapture, erlend oye, arthur russell, tv on the radio, and prince are out of control. But heres a little of what Ive got:

Prince - Raspberry Beret 12in version
Erlend Oye - Poor Leno (Silicone Soul Hypno House Dub/ There is a Light That Never Goes Out)
Arthur Russell - Sketch for Face of Helen
Tv on the Radio - Blues from Down Here

its my birthday...

I put my birthdate into one of those programs that give you back tons of information and so forth about the year you were born. The best part was the music I got back:

"Back in 1983, the popular songs were: “All Night Long” performed by Lionel Richie; “Beat It” performed by Michael Jackson; “Billy Jean” sung by Michael Jackson; and “Down Under” by Men At Work. Also topping the charts: “Every Breath You Take” by The Police; “Islands in the Stream” by Rogers & Parton; “Lets Dance” by David Bowie; and the popular “What A Feeling” by Irene Cara."

I did my best to find these "popular" tracks. These are the only three I could find online today.

Men At Work - Down Under

David Bowie - Lets Dance

Irene Cara - What A Feeling

playing catch up...

My appoligies, I didn't realize it has been nearly two weeks since I have posted anything here. In an attempt to justify myself let me say its been a busy two weeks. I got a new dog a week ago which you can see pictures of at My Journal. I also started grad school last Thursday which needless to say, it takes a bit of adjusting to but is exciting none the less. Aside from the new additions to life, the negative for the week has been my ipod breaking - talk about a disaster.

But music...aside from listening to Erlend Oye and Junior Boys way too much this past week, I got my hands on the Arthur Russell DFA remix stuff. Definitly one of my most anticipated releases. And from what I've heard I do believe it's going to be good.

Anyways, I don't have Erlend Oye, Junior Boys, or Arthur Russell to post, I believe I've posted it all before. F0r today I have something a little different, some italo disco for its fans -
